[01:42] Three and a half minutes, you're supposed to be working, that's for midnight, where
[02:21] are they?
[02:22] There isn't much time, maybe they're dressing for a party, that's also, I take the girl
[02:33] out of Hixville, but you can't take the Hixville out of the, or no gotta, for the
[02:48] chain that pulled it in.
[02:51] Check out the phone, no more chance, let me, I'll kiss your dog, mommy kiss your
[03:19] dog.
[03:24] Be okay, be your squatters, there's hope, but just in case, rope, we can hoist the
[03:39] line, to the fire escape, and tie all that, that bench, I can't take them as chums, start
[03:48] hoisting, wench, I think I should be laughing, yet I forget, forget how to begin, I'm feeling
[03:59] something inside, and yet I still decide, if I should hide on the, last week I wanted
[04:09] just to disappear, my life was dust, but now it just may be a happy new,
[04:25] James Bond, and pussy galore in person, pussy you can't prepare, I was a boy scout once,
[04:32] and a brownie, and so some brat got scared, aha money penny, my martini, well that's
[04:37] champagne too, oh that's shaken, not stirred, pussy the bolts, just say the word, two minutes
[04:44] left to execute our plan, why's everyone else playing spider-man, ironic close-up tight,
[04:50] on the phone machines red light, once the boho boys are gone, the power mysteriously
[04:56] comes on, happy new year, Miss Rosie, and you are listening to WORT 89.9 FM, in Madison
[05:16] Wisconsin, here on community sponsored, volunteer led, WRT, and this is Maureen Miner, you
[05:24] just heard Happy New Year from Rent, and fun fact, we're featuring some Edinum and
[05:29] Zell music today, and I didn't realize, but Edinum was played, or played Maureen, and that's
[05:37] my name, isn't that cool Rosemary?
[05:39] Yeah, so we are having fun, thanks for joining us, we have John Miner behind the scenes
[05:45] helping Rosemary and I out today, I'm gonna hear some hopeful music, some favorites of
[05:51] ours, and some titles that just looked interesting to Rosemary, so here we go with Carrying the
[05:57] Banner from Newsy's.
[06:33] Everything they read in the paper is about us cruddy JD's, so that's what we give them,
[11:11] some to believe in, hey you, who me, officer crucky, yeah you, good reason for not dragging
[11:19] you down the station house, you punk, dear kindly sergeant crucky, you gotta understand,
[11:26] it's just our bringing up key, that gets us out of hand, our mother's all our junkies,
[11:31] our father's all our drunks, golly moses, naturally we're punks, gee officer
[11:37] grump key, we're very upset, we never had the love that every child ought to get,
[11:43] we ain't no delinquent, we're misunderstood, peek down inside as there is good, there is good,
[11:50] there is good, there is good, there is untapped, like inside, the worst of us is good,
[11:56] head to the judge!
[12:06] Dear kindly judge your honor, my parents treat me rough, with all their marijuana,
[12:19] they won't give me a puff, they didn't want to have me, but somehow I was had,
[12:24] leap on lizards, that's why I'm so bad,
[12:27] like officer crucky or real square, this boy don't need a judge, he needs an analyst's cow,
[12:33] this sucks his neurosis, there oughta be coy, he psychologically destroyed,
[12:39] I'm destroyed, we're destroyed, we're destroyed, we're the most destroyed,
[12:43] like we're psychologically destroyed, in the opinion of escort,
[12:54] this child is the brave, out of county ain't had a normal home,
[12:57] hey I'm the brave donna can I'm the bride, so take him to a head sprinkle, you, who me?
[13:03] my daddy beats my mommy, my mommy clubbers me, my grandpa is a commie, my grandma pushes tea,
[13:19] my sister wears a mustache, my brother wears a dress, goodness gracious, that's why I'm a mess
[13:26] yes officer crucky, he shouldn't be here, this boy don't need a couch, he needs a useful career,
[13:33] society's played him a terrible trick, un-socialistically sick, I am sick, we are sick, we are sick,
[13:41] we are sick, sick, sick, like we're sociologically sick, woohoo, woohoo, in my opinion this child does
[13:53] not need to have his head shrunk at all, trauma delinquencies purely are social disease,
[13:59] hey I got a social disease, so take him to a social worker, which way?
[14:04] oh dear, kindly social worker, they tell me get a job, like be a soda jerker,
[14:17] which means I be a slob, it's not I'm anti-social, I'm only anti-work, glory, I'm not why I'm a jerk
[14:25] officer crocky, you've done it again, this boy don't need a job, he needs a year in,
[14:31] it ain't just a question of misunderstood, seat down, it's lazy, the trouble is he drinks,
[14:49] the trouble is he's crazy, the trouble is he stank, the trouble is he's growing, the trouble is he's grown,
[14:55] you're me, we are troubles of all of us, officer crocky, we're dynamic,
[15:02] cause no one wants a fella with a social disease, officer crocky, what are we to do, you are a sick
[15:14] little, just look at me, little, and just look at you, you can do all I've
[15:35] heard, it's people come into our lives, bringing something we must learn, and we are, us most grow,
[16:30] if we let them, and we help them in, well I don't know if I believe that's true,
[16:45] but I know I'm who I am today, because like a clock as it passes a sun, like a stream that meets a
[17:03] boulder, through the wood can send change, how much of me would I learn, like a hat,
[18:19] by a weight off the sea, like a siege wrought by a sky, life and shape, cause I know you,
[18:40] because I know you, and just to clear the air, I've done you, we know there's, I do believe I
[19:34] haven't changed, dropped her pencil, it has teeth marks all over it, she nibbles her pencil,
[20:39] she's human, it hasn't been such a bad day after all, happiness is finding a pencil,
[20:51] pizza with sausage, telling the time, happiness is learning to whistle,
[21:03] tie in your shoe for the very first time, and happiness is walking hand in hand,
[21:23] happiness is two kinds of ice cream, climbing a tree is five different, catching a firefly,
[21:42] setting in, this is morning and evening, daytime and nighttime too, your happiness is anyone,
[22:14] and anything at all, happiness is having a sister, getting a message, sing together when day is through,
[22:44] happiness is those who sing with you, happiness is anyone, and anything that's loved,
[23:15] loved, you're a good man, Charlie Brown, was happiness, and this is Rosemary,
[23:56] and you might have heard me before this show, that's right, Rosemary's already been on the
[24:03] radio with Miss Nikki and her infinite variety, but now you're tuned into better living through
[24:08] show tunes here on WRT 89.9 FM, thank you so much for listening and joining us today,
[24:14] we have the Miner family with you, and we're subbing for Kirk, so we had of course to play
[24:19] something from Wicked, which was for good, and G Africa Sir Krupke from Rent, that was before,
[24:27] West Side Story was before that, we selected some Indina Menzel music and you're going to hear
[24:35] What If from If Then, a new musical which I have not heard of, so thank you Michael for
[24:41] recommending that to us and enjoy the music.
[26:11] Every day your life starts again, one can say just how it just went,
[27:31] somehow the world inside out, each choice you make is a kind of a loss, each turn that you take,
[27:48] and each coin that you toss, you lose all the choices you don't get to make,
[27:54] you wander a battle, turns you don't take, so what if I'd, what if, and then what if I'd
[28:06] answered that, catching the roof and pitching the hay, is not my idea of a perfect day,
[29:35] when you're extraordinary, you gotta do extraordinary things, I'm not the top who
[29:45] loses sleep, over the size of the compost heap, when you're extraordinary, you think about
[29:54] extraordinary things, that's the reason I'll never be, the kind of man who's got into the tapestry,
[30:09] the dungeon smells, oh it's hard to feel special, it's hard to feel big, feeding the turtle and
[30:19] walking the pig, it's so secondary, won't stop leaking and the goat won't stop shrieking and
[30:38] the griffin keeps losing his hair, if the west wing is rotting and our best wine is
[30:44] clowning, well I'm terribly, someone would just tell me when the hell it is, oh give me my chance
[31:35] and give me my wings in the struggle, so I got a black eye and my arms in a cast, but he's got,
[32:26] and I dream of a place where we could be together, what kind of place is that honey,
[32:38] an emergency room, oh no, a daydream of mine, a little development I dream of, just off the
[32:46] interstate, fancy like Levittown, just a little street in a little suburb far far from urban Skid Row,
[32:57] the sweetest greenest place, where everybody has the same little lawn out front and the same little
[33:05] flagstone patio out back, houses are so neat and pretty, because they all look just alike,
[33:15] I dream about it all the time, as to me and the toaster and a sweet little guy, see more
[33:29] matchbox of a roll, no chain link, a grill out of a patio, disposal in the sea, a wash around
[33:52] and an irony, in the track tower that we share, where that's green, loves to monitor,
[34:30] in the pine song, where that's green, nine fifteen, watching a big, twelve ember bra,
[35:06] his father, he knows best, our kids watch howdy doody, as the sun sets in the west,
[35:19] a picture of his magazine, Skid Row will go, we are trying to stay positive here and keep dreams and
[36:12] hope alive these days, so you just heard somewhere that's green from Little Shop of Horrors,
[36:17] and before that was Extra Ordinary from Pippin, one of John's favorite songs,
[36:23] this is Maureen Miner, you're listening to Better Living Through Showtoons here on WRT,
[36:28] 89.9 FM, and Rosemary has a special announcement. And here is something for Taco Tony.
[40:28] To read the unreached other star, this is my quest, to follow that star matter or less,
[40:44] to fight for the ride, without question or pause, to be willing to march into her nest,
[41:20] be better for the, that one man, scorned and covered with scar, still strong,
[41:35] last sounds occur, they are each other, and his orch's he used were flung to very frightened men,
[42:56] but if you can, the key is to, your dreams, though I cannot guarantee, I'll have a go,
[43:47] a trend of a vine, I picked some grapes, and I crushed them, gave them to Pharaoh,
[44:08] who drank from my cup, I tried to interpret, but I had to give up, be free my friend,
[44:19] do not work anymore, let you out of here, you did before, those who tell history,
[44:43] with baskets of bread, I saw birds overhead, who flew to the baskets, and ate every slice,
[44:53] give me the message, like his would be nigh, say your dream is not, the kind of dream I'd like to get,
[45:07] has it in fear, don't rely on all I said I saw, just that I have not been wrong before,
[45:26] was of course, go go go Joseph, from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
[47:29] we are dreaming big today, that was before that, was a possible dream,
[47:35] from one of John's favorite shows, Man in La Mancha, and we are here today, thank you so much,
[47:42] speaking of dreams, we are celebrating the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr., and he, as we all
[47:48] know, had great dreams, which unfortunately today are still not coming true, so hopefully
[47:53] we can get past that, let's give some shout outs to some events that are happening,
[47:58] tonight is the MLK Ecumenical Service from 4.30 to 6 at First Baptist Church on Franklin Avenue,
[48:05] I believe, so look that up, we'll be there, tomorrow, Monday, January 19th, it's a youth day of service
[48:12] from noon to 5, and you can find more information at ulgm.org, and that's happening at the Madison
[48:20] Central Library, also the state of Wisconsin's 46th longest running annual tribute and ceremony
[48:26] is from noon to 2 at the state capitol in the rotunda, always a beautiful service
[48:30] and celebration, and then the 41st annual city of Madison and Dane County MLK
[48:36] Day observance is from 5 to 7.30 at Overture Center Capitol Theatre, and again lots of great
[48:41] music that they feature there as well, and now from Bullets Over Broadway, what is this
[48:48] next song called Rosemary?
[49:27] But if I like the service, I would come back, I'm willing to pay, so listen to the words I
[49:44] want a hot dog for my role, I want it hot, I don't want it cold, a big one, that's what I said,
[49:58] oh it will fit, hot dog for my role, instead, interpretive dancing, cause the audience used
[50:36] to interpret it one way, and the Catholic Church interpreted it another, to a charisma,
[50:45] now picture this, the hot dog man comes on, and when I say hot dog, I don't mean cocktail Frank,
[50:56] oh here's a dog that's short and lean, that ain't the kind of dog I'm in, oh here's a dog that's
[51:06] short and fat, you better show me something, here's my role as your dog, that role you got
[51:18] would hold half a heart, why yes I can, I'm known as the champion, this is a total bloody disaster,
[52:28] all my nights have fled, and we're lost in a dark and very expensive forest, well it could be worse,
[52:36] well how could it possibly be worse, oh cheer up sire, you know what they say, what do they say pixie,
[52:45] some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad, other things just make you swear and curse,
[52:54] when you're chewing on life's gristle, don't crumble, give a whistle, and this will help
[53:01] things turn out for the best, always look on the bright side of life, always look on the right side
[53:17] of life, you give it a try, if life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten,
[53:24] and that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing, when you're feeling in the dumps,
[53:30] don't be silly chumps, just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing, and always look on the
[53:38] bright side of life, look on the right side of life, well life is quite absurd, and death's the final
[53:53] word, you must always face the curtain with a bow, forget about your sin, give the audience a grin,
[54:01] enjoy it, it's your last chance anyhow, always look on the bright side of death, just life's a laugh
[54:20] and death's a joke it's true, you'll see it's all a show, keep on laughing as you go, just remember
[54:28] that the last laugh is on you, look on the bright side of life, it's quite absurd, and death's the
[55:48] final word, you always face the curtain with a bow, excuse me, is that a shrubbery, oh yes,
[55:58] I'm throwing it out, chat won't leave it alone, well what a strike of luck, I'll take it off your hands,
[56:05] hey little lady patsy, I hope you enjoyed always look on the bright side of life,
[56:49] we're gonna leave with that today, that one of course was from Spamalot, and we hope you had a
[56:55] good time listening to the Miner Family here on Better Living Through Showtoons on WORT 89.9 FM,
[57:04] and we wish you a wonderful rest of the weekend, and Rosemary will close us out.
[57:13] Thank you for listening to today, have a good day.
[57:36] cry in your tea, what you heard in the sea, when you see me go by, why so sad, remember we
[57:47] made an arrangement when you went away, now you're making me mad, remember despite our estrangement,
[57:58] I'm your man, you'll be back, soon you'll see, you'll remember you belong to me,
[58:11] you'll be back, time will tell, remember that I served you well, oceans rise, empires fall,
[58:23] we have seen each other through it all, and when push comes to shove, I will send a fully armed
[58:33] battalion to remind you of my ada, Brits of Jews, be back like before, I will fight the fight and
[59:39] win the war, for your love, for your praise, and I'll love you till my dying day,
[59:49] when he uses family to remind you of my lies, human you're listening to WORT 89.9 FM
[60:17] Madisonelo, Muscone
