[00:25]
You are listening to W-O-R-T-F-M, Madison 89.9.
[00:31]
This is Better Living Through Show Tunes.
[00:34]
I'm your host, Katie.
[00:35]
Today in the studio, we also have Margaret and Bill
[00:38]
helping out with the pledge drive.
[00:39]
If you've been listening,
[00:41]
you know that it's happening right now.
[00:43]
So if you feel so inclined to make a pledge
[00:46]
to help WART continue to do what we do here,
[00:51]
give us a call.
[00:52]
We would love to hear from you
[00:54]
and collect those monies, you know.
[00:57]
You can call 608-256-2001,
[01:03]
extension one,
[01:05]
or you can also make a pledge online
[01:08]
at www.wartfm.org.
[01:13]
We're gonna start out today's Show Tunes show
[01:16]
with a little rocky whore.
[01:20]
Hope you love it.
[02:00]
I would like, if I may,
[02:02]
to take you on a strange journey.
[03:08]
In just a minute.
[05:20]
That was a little ditty from Rocky Horror Picture Show
[05:22]
called Over at the Frankenstein Place.
[05:25]
Since it's October,
[05:26]
I decided to kinda go with an evil spooky scary theme.
[05:30]
So a lot of these songs may be from musicals
[05:33]
that you don't know or some that you do recognize.
[05:35]
A lot of them are movies turned musicals.
[05:38]
Those make the best crazy random songs
[05:42]
that you'd never thought you'd hear from, right?
[05:45]
So like I mentioned,
[05:48]
we have Bill helping us out today
[05:50]
with the pledge drive and Margaret is here as well.
[05:55]
So I'm gonna let Bill talk a little bit
[05:57]
about what is happening and how you can donate today.
[06:01]
Thank you, Katie, it's nice to be here.
[06:04]
Before I say anything else,
[06:05]
I'm just gonna remind you that the phone number
[06:07]
is 608-256-2001, extension one,
[06:11]
or else you can go online to WORTFM.org
[06:14]
and click the donate button.
[06:16]
And I think that war is like the light in the darkness,
[06:22]
just to draw on the previous song.
[06:26]
There's a light over at the Frankenstein Place.
[06:29]
Here we are at WORT, our light is shining bright,
[06:33]
but we need your help, listeners.
[06:36]
This is Listen to Sponsored Radio
[06:38]
and we need to pay for stuff.
[06:40]
And this is how we do it.
[06:41]
We don't have commercials that are louder than the music
[06:46]
interfering with your enjoyment.
[06:48]
We come to you three or four times a year
[06:50]
asking for money straight out upfront, blam.
[06:53]
Please give us money because we need to keep the lights on.
[06:57]
It costs money to keep that light
[06:59]
glowing in the darkness at the Frankenstein Place.
[07:02]
And we have done some great things
[07:05]
with listener support over the past few years.
[07:07]
You've heard about the sound boards, they are luxurious,
[07:10]
but sturdy is the thing.
[07:13]
You had to get a new roof on this building
[07:14]
because there was water coming in.
[07:16]
And now we're looking to fix the elevator
[07:22]
and do a little updating on the exterior of the building.
[07:27]
I think that the paint needs a little bit of fixing,
[07:32]
as well as keeping the lights on all day every day
[07:35]
with the wonderful music and news and talk
[07:38]
that war brings you 608-256-2001 or WRTFM.org.
[07:45]
Thanks, Bill.
[07:46]
The next song we're going to play is from the musical Wicked,
[07:49]
sung by Adina Menzel, No Good Deed.
[08:44]
Don't even know what I'm reading.
[08:46]
I don't even know what trick I ought to try.
[08:50]
Fear, where are you?
[08:52]
Already dead or bleeding?
[08:54]
One more disaster I can add to mine.
[08:57]
Generous supply goes unpunished.
[09:12]
No act of charity goes unrepresented.
[09:16]
No good deed goes unpunished.
[09:20]
That's my new career.
[09:28]
No good hurts.
[10:02]
Too much, too much to mention.
[10:05]
Was I really seeking good or just seeking attention?
[10:09]
Is that all good deeds are when looked at
[10:11]
when an ice cold die?
[10:14]
If that's all good deeds are, maybe that's it.
[10:46]
Let all laws be agreed.
[10:48]
I'm wicked through and through
[10:50]
since I cannot succeed.
[10:53]
Fiero saving you, I promise no good deed.
[10:57]
Will you attempt to do it?
[11:29]
Evil's lurking in the dark.
[11:37]
The insight that almost stops your heart.
[11:42]
You try to scream,
[11:45]
but terror takes the sound before you make it.
[11:52]
You start to free.
[11:55]
As horror looks you right between the eyes.
[12:00]
You're paralyzed.
[12:03]
I guess this is thrillers
[12:11]
and no one's gonna see it.
[12:13]
From the beast of Dr. Strike,
[12:15]
you know it's thrilling.
[12:22]
You're fighting for your life inside a killer.
[12:26]
Thriller doesn't know where left to run.
[12:46]
See the sun, you close your eyes.
[12:52]
Just imagination keeping up behind.
[15:28]
I think you might recognize that one.
[15:29]
It was a thriller from MJ the Musical.
[15:32]
How fun, I'm a big Michael Jackson fan.
[15:34]
So I was excited to get to play that one
[15:37]
because it's actually from a musical.
[15:39]
I don't know if anyone got to see it
[15:41]
either in New York or on a tour.
[15:43]
I did see the tour when it came to the Overture Center
[15:45]
and I was blown away by the impersonations.
[15:49]
Just so magical and a little name drop.
[15:51]
My friend Jason Michael Webb was the orchestrator
[15:54]
and musical director for MJ the Musical on Broadway.
[15:56]
So I especially have a special place
[15:59]
in that of this show in my heart.
[16:02]
So I wanna introduce you to Margaret.
[16:04]
She is gonna be joining us
[16:06]
in the Better Living Through Show Tunes family.
[16:11]
Yes, that's the family now.
[16:13]
Yeah, Margaret, tell us about why you decided
[16:15]
to come to Ward and be a DJ.
[16:18]
Yes, thank you.
[16:19]
My name is Margaret and I'm really excited to get started.
[16:22]
I'm a little nervous, I won't lie.
[16:24]
But everybody has been very welcoming
[16:28]
and I'm super excited to do Better Living Through Show Tunes.
[16:32]
I've been listening for years and years
[16:34]
and so this is pretty exciting and awesome for me.
[16:37]
It's a very unique program.
[16:40]
I don't know of any other radio station
[16:42]
that plays show tunes.
[16:43]
It's just a wonderful break
[16:46]
and just dance around the living room on a Sunday
[16:50]
with your favorite musicals.
[16:52]
And so I'm very excited to be here.
[16:56]
I think it's-
[16:56]
And you think people should call us 608-256-2001.
[16:59]
I absolutely do, yes, yes.
[17:01]
It's such a unique show.
[17:03]
So excited to be here and yes,
[17:05]
please think about making a pledge.
[17:08]
Any amount is so welcome.
[17:11]
You can pledge to the phone number 608-256-2001,
[17:15]
extension one, or online at wrtfm.org.
[17:20]
And I've got news.
[17:21]
What's the news, what's the news?
[17:25]
We have a new donor, yay!
[17:27]
Awesome.
[17:29]
Thank you, Eric, from Madison.
[17:33]
You helped us meet our goal already.
[17:35]
We had a goal of getting one first-time donor
[17:37]
and you did it, so-
[17:38]
Hey, awesome.
[17:39]
Thank you, Eric.
[17:40]
Welcome to the WRT community.
[17:43]
I love that.
[17:44]
I am making goals.
[17:45]
Eric says his favorite shows
[17:48]
are Better Living Through Show Tunes and La Junta.
[17:51]
Oh, thanks, Eric.
[17:53]
Yes, thank you, Eric.
[17:54]
That's awesome.
[17:56]
Well, let's celebrate Eric with another fun song.
[18:02]
This one is called Fright of Their Lives
[18:04]
and it is from Beetlejuice, the musical.
[18:07]
And I just noticed on the Isthmus cover this week
[18:11]
that there is a screening of Beetlejuice.
[18:14]
So I'm gonna have to find out where that's happening
[18:17]
because I definitely need to go.
[18:18]
Love that movie, love this musical.
[18:20]
Here is Fright of Their Lives.
[18:28]
I would like, if I may, to take-
[18:38]
Listen up, I'm not gonna lie.
[18:42]
Couldn't frighten a flight.
[19:04]
Your place is her ahead.
[19:11]
Preferably someone you know.
[19:14]
Not to me, I'm so scary.
[19:17]
Don't be so vanilla, put a little anger kill ya.
[19:20]
Come on, drop your panties.
[19:21]
I'm trying to fill ya with wisdom.
[19:27]
I don't want to kill anyone.
[19:28]
Fine, but somehow, some way, you gotta make them see ya.
[19:32]
I'm talking jump scares, the jerky Japanese ghost walk,
[19:35]
plus-
[19:36]
I don't know if you stole your friends.
[19:38]
But the party-
[19:38]
No, that is cool.
[19:40]
I wanna do that.
[19:43]
For it takes to make-
[20:42]
Brilliant.
[20:43]
Try it again, maybe this time pretend
[20:45]
like you mean it.
[20:48]
That was even, I can kinda hear you.
[21:29]
Yeah?
[21:30]
Well, that was a soliloquy.
[21:31]
So you're the one who's being rude.
[21:33]
Whatever it takes-
[25:30]
That was Good and Evil from,
[25:32]
oh my God, I'm blanking.
[25:33]
Jekyll and Hyde, there we go.
[25:35]
So that one is
[25:39]
sung by Christian Noll.
[25:41]
And before that, like I said, we had the Beetlejuice.
[25:46]
And Bill, what can people get
[25:48]
with their donation?
[25:50]
Do they get little prizes and stuff
[25:52]
for making certain donations?
[25:53]
That's a great leading question, Katie.
[25:55]
Thank you so much.
[25:58]
Of course, the main reward you get
[25:59]
is continued different radio.
[26:02]
We are, WORT is different than any other station
[26:06]
you can find in the area.
[26:08]
Where else are you gonna find show tunes?
[26:11]
We play international music.
[26:13]
We play, we have a,
[26:15]
I like the Universal Soul Explosion
[26:16]
that comes down at midnight.
[26:18]
Oh yeah.
[26:18]
On Saturday or Sunday, whatever you think of it,
[26:21]
however you think of that.
[26:22]
But in addition to the great music,
[26:25]
we have some gifts.
[26:27]
We have, and you can go online to wortfm.org
[26:34]
and look at the pictures of them.
[26:35]
But at the $20 level, we have a WORT bumper sticker.
[26:40]
This has been a design that's been consistent
[26:42]
for a number of years.
[26:44]
But now, added at the $40 level
[26:46]
is a WORT Keychain Bagcharm Zipper Pull
[26:50]
that matches the bumper sticker,
[26:52]
but you can use it,
[26:54]
you can put it in your pocket
[26:55]
or put it on your backpack
[26:56]
or your luggage, whatever you wanna do.
[27:00]
So everyone you're supporting WORT shall come off.
[27:02]
That's right.
[27:04]
Then at the $60 level,
[27:05]
we've got a lightweight bag
[27:07]
with the WORT Globe logo on it.
[27:11]
It's black or royal blue, lightweight,
[27:15]
has pocket school lower
[27:16]
and can be worn cross body for added ease.
[27:19]
It's perfect for walks, traveling,
[27:21]
or anytime you leave your house
[27:22]
and wanna move lightly.
[27:24]
It's got the WORT logo on the front of the bag.
[27:26]
Fine.
[27:27]
And then, all right, the big deal though
[27:29]
is at the $100 level,
[27:31]
we've got the skull baseball hat.
[27:33]
And some people might call it a skull cap,
[27:36]
but that's not the exact same thing.
[27:39]
This one has a WORT embroidered on the top of the cap.
[27:44]
And the O is a skeleton with its earphones on.
[27:48]
Thank you.
[27:49]
And this is the last time these are gonna be offered.
[27:52]
And we have a batch of red and warm gray.
[27:56]
And...
[27:57]
Perfect for today's theme.
[27:59]
Right.
[28:00]
And then at that $100 level,
[28:03]
we've got the weird different long sleeve t-shirt.
[28:06]
It's got the WORT mythological beast
[28:09]
with the head of a cow,
[28:11]
the body of the front part of a zebra,
[28:14]
duck feet, wings of some sort,
[28:17]
rhinoceros back end, rooster tail,
[28:20]
and a spare bird.
[28:21]
I love this design.
[28:22]
It's pretty awesome.
[28:24]
And this is our design for fall 2026.
[28:28]
Get it now or you miss out
[28:31]
because we order these according to the number of people
[28:33]
who pledge or donate for them.
[28:36]
And so once the pledge drive is over,
[28:40]
your chance is gone.
[28:42]
You are not gonna wanna miss out on this one.
[28:44]
FOMO is real.
[28:45]
So make those pledges so that you don't miss out on that.
[28:49]
608-256-2001 or extension one,
[28:52]
or wrtfm.org.
[28:55]
Awesome.
[28:56]
Let's get back to some music.
[28:58]
Get you some time to get your donations ready
[29:02]
and figure it out.
[29:03]
Be like Eric.
[29:04]
Yes, be like Eric.
[29:06]
Another shout out to Eric.
[29:07]
Hehehehe.
[29:10]
Right?
[29:10]
I think it's upper time.
[29:15]
If you want something removed in a hurry,
[29:17]
it's best not to dispose of it on skid row.
[29:19]
What are you talking about?
[29:20]
This, a dentist uniform.
[29:23]
He's got your number now.
[29:26]
I saw it last week and didn't think twice.
[29:27]
He knows just what you've done.
[29:30]
And the little red dot seemed innocent enough.
[29:32]
You got no place to hide.
[29:34]
But now I catch you kissing the dentist girlfriend.
[29:37]
You got nowhere to run.
[29:39]
And it begins to look like a motive.
[29:41]
He knows your life of crime.
[29:43]
Once he's out of the way, you move in, right?
[29:46]
I think it's upper time.
[29:50]
I'm innocent.
[29:51]
I'm innocent.
[29:52]
Then come with me to the police and tell them that.
[29:55]
He's got his facts all straight.
[29:57]
Just so my conscience will rest easy.
[29:59]
You know he's on your trail.
[30:02]
If you don't, I'll have to go tell them myself.
[30:04]
He's going to turn you in.
[30:07]
Now will you come?
[30:08]
They're going to put you in jail.
[30:12]
OK.
[30:13]
He's USDA pariah.
[30:15]
Oh, my suppertime.
[30:20]
I'll go lock up.
[30:21]
We'll head over.
[30:22]
Come on.
[30:26]
Think about all those offers.
[30:28]
Come on.
[30:29]
Come on.
[30:30]
Your future with Ottoman.
[30:35]
Ain't no time to turn squeamish.
[30:37]
Come on.
[30:38]
Come on.
[30:39]
I swear on all my s-
[30:40]
OK, Seymour.
[30:48]
Let's go.
[30:49]
Uh, don't you want to collect today's receipts so you can deposit them in the morning?
[30:52]
You put them in the safe, didn't you?
[30:54]
Uh, no.
[30:55]
Why not?
[30:56]
I forgot the combination.
[30:57]
It's thousands of dollars.
[30:58]
Where is it?
[30:59]
In the plant.
[31:00]
In the plant?
[31:01]
I thought it was the safest place.
[31:02]
No thief would look in there, right?
[31:03]
The money's inside the plant?
[31:04]
Somehow am I supposed to get it?
[31:05]
Just knock.
[31:06]
Seymour.
[31:07]
You came.
[31:08]
You've all been for the living.
[31:09]
Don't like the time warp.
[31:10]
What?
[31:11]
Only-
[31:13]
Not till we're done the tube.
[31:23]
What are you on, crack?
[32:20]
After our dance, will it-
[32:26]
OK.
[32:58]
That was a weird one, right?
[32:59]
Oh, no.
[33:00]
No.
[33:56]
No.
[33:57]
No.
[34:02]
No.
[34:03]
No.
[34:04]
No.
[34:58]
That was a weird one, right?
[34:59]
So that one is from Evil Dead, the musical, which I saw years ago.
[35:04]
Oh my gosh.
[35:06]
When they seat you, if you are in like the first 10 rows in the front, you get to wear
[35:14]
a rain poncho, but it is not to protect you from rain.
[35:18]
It is to protect you from all the blood splatter that is going to happen from that show.
[35:23]
I don't know if you've seen that show.
[35:24]
I hope that's the stage of blood.
[35:26]
Uh, I know, right?
[35:27]
I hope that it is stage blood tune.
[35:29]
I'm pretty sure it is.
[35:30]
But they definitely get soaked in the front.
[35:34]
I stayed far back.
[35:35]
I wanted to be able to continue my day
[35:38]
after I saw that show, so I didn't want to be covered.
[35:41]
But it was very crazy.
[35:43]
That movie from the 80s with the guy
[35:45]
has the chainsaw hand, that's Evil Dead,
[35:47]
if you don't remember.
[35:49]
Before that, you heard Supper Time
[35:50]
from Little Shop of Hores.
[35:52]
And I heard the phone ringing.
[35:54]
Does that mean people are calling in?
[35:56]
Well, we hope so.
[35:57]
We have James and Lisa in the lobby
[36:00]
answering phones to take your pledges.
[36:03]
And they'd be happy to tell you about
[36:05]
more details about the premiums,
[36:08]
or thank you gifts, I should say.
[36:10]
And they also would be able to tell you
[36:12]
about the Evergreen donation,
[36:14]
which if you don't want to call off
[36:16]
and ask James and Lisa about that,
[36:17]
I'm going to tell you right now.
[36:19]
Awesome.
[36:21]
Maybe $100 for the skull baseball cap
[36:24]
or the t-shirt seems like more money
[36:26]
than you have in your account right now.
[36:28]
I understand that feeling very well.
[36:31]
But if you would like to help us out
[36:35]
by giving a small amount every month,
[36:41]
then you can earn your premium thank you gift that way.
[36:44]
Oh, that's nice.
[36:46]
Perfect.
[36:46]
For example, the $100 dollar level
[36:49]
breaks down to $8.33 a month.
[36:52]
So if you signed up for $8.33 a month,
[36:57]
you could get the t-shirt or the skull cap right now.
[37:01]
And we trust that you will continue to pay.
[37:04]
And that amount comes out of your bank account every month.
[37:09]
We don't take that information over the phone right now.
[37:12]
We take your desire to join the Evergreen Society.
[37:16]
Then a staff person will contact you
[37:19]
in a secure method and get the necessary information
[37:22]
that money starts coming out of your account,
[37:25]
either the first part of the month
[37:26]
or the middle of the month.
[37:27]
Nice, so you don't have to have that full amount
[37:29]
that you want to give to WART right away.
[37:32]
You can break it down
[37:33]
and it's a little bit more digestible
[37:35]
throughout the year.
[37:37]
That's financial pain.
[37:38]
And I've been doing that for years.
[37:42]
It's a set it and forget it kind of thing.
[37:45]
Great idea.
[37:46]
And like, usually I have $5 in my bank account
[37:50]
that can go to WART at the beginning of the month.
[37:53]
So that's worked out for me.
[37:55]
Yeah, and what a good feeling to give
[37:57]
to something that you listen to
[37:59]
that supports the community,
[38:02]
that entertains the community,
[38:03]
that informs the community that you live in.
[38:07]
Just, that is such a good feeling.
[38:08]
So if you want to make a pledge
[38:10]
and have that feeling in your heart as well,
[38:13]
you can call 608-256-2001, extension one.
[38:18]
And again, you can pledge online as well at wartfm.org.
[38:24]
Should we continue with some music?
[38:26]
Some more weird, creepy, freaky.
[38:29]
It's spooky music. Let's do it.
[38:31]
Yeah.
[38:32]
All right.
[38:33]
This one is from Dracula, the musical.
[38:36]
It's called Fresh Blood.
[39:15]
I don't have some light.
[39:16]
Can you not hear the secret music?
[39:19]
The master of the boy yard.
[39:20]
I summoned him from near and far
[39:22]
to make intoxicating music.
[39:25]
But it's time now to leave him.
[39:28]
I must follow my plan.
[39:31]
I shall have to be leave him.
[39:34]
I need pastures new.
[39:36]
What I'm needing is fresh blood to revive me.
[39:40]
Fresh blood in my veins.
[39:43]
No one will survive me
[39:46]
in those dark souls.
[39:49]
In your English name, I'll be a stranger everywhere.
[40:01]
No one will recognize my features.
[40:04]
I'll go out hunting all night long.
[40:06]
Just one more pale face on the front,
[40:08]
turning them all into my creatures.
[40:11]
Hear the people of near me.
[40:14]
Their defenses are strong.
[40:18]
They refuse to come near me.
[40:21]
I need pastures new.
[40:23]
What I'm needing is fresh blood on my keyboard.
[40:27]
Don't call it a sin.
[40:31]
The net of unjust hate
[40:36]
will live forever.
[40:48]
The terror it must ring.
[40:51]
We need a sacrifice, a most reason
[41:01]
for all the riches I am giving.
[41:04]
We are the children of the night,
[41:07]
and we must hide ourselves from night,
[41:09]
but we must feast upon the living.
[41:12]
We can take our soldiers.
[41:14]
We can take our soldiers.
[41:15]
We won't run out of time.
[41:16]
We won't run out of time.
[41:19]
We won't run out of time.
[41:20]
London's full of fame.
[41:23]
I can sense it.
[41:25]
Monsters awake.
[42:05]
I go.
[42:06]
We have to come up with some sort of diversion
[42:07]
and fast before...
[42:08]
Ed about the Foxtrot.
[42:15]
Throw away the waltz.
[42:18]
Take away that two-step
[42:20]
and all that other schmaltz.
[42:24]
Who ready for what's been going on?
[42:33]
It's a doozy.
[42:36]
Makes you woozy.
[42:38]
It's the new phenomenon.
[42:44]
The mania.
[42:48]
If not, then let me explainia.
[42:50]
Yes, sir.
[42:51]
It's the Transylvania.
[42:53]
Mania.
[42:54]
Whether you're in Ruritania
[42:56]
or a dance-all in Albania.
[42:58]
Yes, sir.
[42:59]
It's the Transylvania.
[43:01]
Mania.
[43:02]
Everybody who's been you
[43:04]
and it can't resist its appeal.
[43:07]
Everybody's out there
[43:09]
doing it.
[43:10]
Millionaire and Schlemiel.
[43:11]
So join the fun.
[43:12]
Let's all be zania.
[43:14]
Even Litton.
[43:15]
Lithuania.
[43:16]
Love it.
[43:17]
It's the latest rage.
[43:20]
Whose end?
[43:22]
Don't complainia.
[43:23]
Hit the dance floor.
[43:24]
Feel no painia.
[43:25]
Love it.
[43:26]
Do the Transylvania.
[43:27]
Mania.
[43:29]
Just accept it.
[43:30]
Don't refrainia.
[43:31]
Don't resist it.
[43:32]
Come on, kids.
[43:34]
Let's raise some cania.
[43:35]
Yes, sir.
[43:36]
Yes, sir.
[43:39]
Yes, raise.
[44:07]
I without the pits.
[44:08]
It's a weekend.
[44:09]
It's all the rage with the French and Brits.
[44:12]
The Transylvania and mania.
[44:14]
It's the newest quit from Algonquin wits.
[44:16]
It's the win-win.
[44:17]
It's the poply cosh with an ice-cold glitz.
[44:21]
Feel the Transylvania.
[44:22]
I think I know what that bell means.
[46:36]
Woo-hoo!
[46:39]
What?
[46:40]
I know what it means because I hit the bell.
[46:41]
So, woo-hoo!
[46:42]
The magic of radio, right?
[46:44]
We are celebrating.
[46:45]
You didn't even know that that was me doing that,
[46:47]
but I told you.
[46:49]
So, Juliana, thank you so much.
[46:52]
Yay.
[46:53]
Thank you, Juliana.
[46:55]
Yes.
[46:56]
Donation, always, always appreciated.
[46:59]
Get your name.
[47:00]
Get a shout-out on the radio.
[47:02]
Juliana loves Mel and Floyd and all folk and all experimental musicals.
[47:08]
Music.
[47:09]
Music, sorry.
[47:10]
Yay, experimental music.
[47:11]
I'm like, got musicals on the mind.
[47:12]
So, thank you for calling in or doing it online.
[47:16]
Thank you.
[47:17]
Actually, you were online.
[47:18]
So, appreciate your support here at WART.
[47:21]
You can be like Juliana and like Eric

[47:35]
because now WART is available all around the world
[47:38]
anywhere that you have internet.
[47:39]
You can hear WART
[47:41]
and it's probably, I'm going to guess,
[47:43]
I'm going to completely speculate here
[47:46]
that this is one of the widest varieties
[47:49]
of music programming anywhere in the world.
[47:51]
Absolutely.
[47:52]
Oh, it's got to be, right?
[47:53]
We have everything from wild experimental music
[47:57]
like Juliana likes and like I like.
[48:00]
Sunday night, Sunday at 9 p.m.
[48:02]
It's just eight great hours of experimental radio.
[48:06]
And so, we've got everything from the completely...
[48:10]
It's pretty special.
[48:12]
...experimental new to shows like Rockin' John.
[48:15]
You know, well-established music from the 50s and 60s
[48:18]
and what fits up through 2026.
[48:20]
Good old rock and roll.
[48:22]
You can join Eric and Juliana by calling
[48:26]

[48:40]
So fun.
[48:42]
We've only got a little bit of time here left.
[48:45]
And we need two more donors to reach our goal.
[48:48]
So, we've got 12 minutes.
[48:52]
We've been loving Katie's music here in the studio.
[48:55]
We've been dancing in our chairs.
[48:58]
Even though it's show tunes, right,
[49:00]
you still hear like a huge variety
[49:02]
everywhere from like the morbid craziness
[49:05]
to that last one that we heard,
[49:07]
which was Transylvania Mania from Young Frankenstein,
[49:12]
which is Mel Brooks' musical.
[49:13]
Love that.
[49:14]
So, yeah, just all over the place, right?
[49:18]
This next one is from a musical called Bat Boy.
[49:23]
And I thought, you know, bats, Halloween.
[49:26]
Perfect.
[49:27]
Perfect.
[49:28]
All of that.
[49:29]
It kind of fits together.
[49:30]
So, we'll give this one a play.
[49:31]
Go first, call 608-256-2001, extension 1.
[49:34]
Or go online to WARTFM.org
[49:37]

[49:39]

What Bill said.
[51:57]
Melissa Boy.
[51:58]
Welcome back to WART,

My name is Bill,

[54:09]
And so far we have two.
[54:11]
We've got about six minutes left,
[54:12]
so that means we have, we need two calls
[54:15]
or online donations in the next six minutes
[54:18]
to meet our goal.
[54:20]
Can't wait to hear from you.
[54:23]
Yeah.
[54:25]
I've received intelligence that both of my brothers
[54:27]
have been listening.
[54:29]
So, Bob, Mike, we'd like to hear from you.
[54:32]
Pressure's on.
[54:34]
Especially I think both of my brothers
[54:36]
will be happy to learn that our staff here at WART
[54:39]
is organized in a union.
[54:42]
And I'm very proud of that,
[54:44]
that we have union representation here
[54:46]
at the community radio station.
[54:48]
It gives the staff some footing
[54:50]
when it comes to the operation of this station.
[54:53]
So if you are a union supporter,
[54:55]
this is a union organization.
[54:57]
You can give us a call at 608-256-2001, extension 1.
[55:01]
Or go online to WARTFM.org.

[55:06]
Support experimental music.
[55:08]

Support the best news and talk in the city.
[55:14]
Love that.
[55:17]
Thank you guys so much for listening

[55:27]
So you'll catch me next week here,
[55:29]

[55:31]
But today, just filling in
[55:34]

[55:37]
and also getting all your pledges
[55:40]
and welcoming those with Bill as well.
[55:44]
Welcome, Eric. Thank you, Juliana.
[55:46]
Yes, thank you so much.
[55:48]
We hope you have a beautiful Sunday.
[55:50]
And I think we're gonna
[55:52]
sign out with this last song from Phantom of the Opera.
[55:55]
And next up is On the Horizon,
[55:57]
so stay tuned and get your
[55:59]
pledge fingers ready for that as well.
[56:02]
Call before the top of the hour,
[56:04]
608-256-2001, extension 1,
[56:06]
to show your love for Better Living Through Show Tunes.
[56:09]
Or go online to wrtfm.org.
[56:12]
Thank you.
[56:14]
Hey, Rockin' John, who do you think of
[60:54]

[61:13]
Blending Rock and Roll with
